Finally managed to get round to fitting the bfi engine mount. Initial impressions after a quick spin around the block are positive. The excessive sloppy feel of 1st to 2nd dsg shift on part throttle has disappeared and shifting in general feels a lot tighter. The oem mount that came 0ff had zero resistance for the first mm's of travel... Well and truly goosed at 30k! Easy to swap out with help of carefully placed trolley jack to take the weight and lift the engine. I also have 034 msport dogbone insert already fitted and found no increase in nvh with bfi engine mount fitted. Appears to be slighter deeper sound to engine note but maybe that's wishful thinking on my part :)

Not sure whether I'll go for dsg side mount. I'll give the engine mount some miles and see what I think.

Gave the cupra a wash before the return to work. Also tried out some of the 3M stainless steel cleaner on the exhaust (in the dark of course). Seemed to make them a little better but there’s still a fair bit of work to make the tips look as good as new. Does anyone have any recommendations for ways to remove the general deposits ,carbon etc) from the exhaust tips?

Final wash and hoover out before trading in on Friday. Been a great car it really has.
Will keep looking in as may well be back in the future, but just have to scratch the RWD and straight 6 itch right now.

I agree with the Autosol, although I hadn't used it with wirewool so will try that. This stuff is bril for it.

That looks nice, I might go and grab some wool, and possibly the polish later on this week.

Thanks all!

Yeah after seeing yours and a few others. Only one winner isn’t there!! I know I went on about it being a lot more expensive than the competition but looks absolutely mint!

You’ll need a 3mm drill and a screwdriver. @Deano j1971 and myself also used some silicon sealant as well. I can’t remember it’s proper name but Deano j1971 will know.

Fairly easy to fit then?

If you can get the front end off the ground - Yes. On the splitter there are 22 holes already drilled into it. If you hold the splitter up to the car you will see 4 of these line up with self tapping screws already in place. Remove these and then offer up the splitter and reinsert the 4 you took out. You now have 18 holes to drill into the car body through the holes in the splitter. Add the remaining self tappers and bingo.

Yeah I’ll second what Maypack has said about installing the front splitter, took about half hour in total, so easy.... however if you invest in the Rieger rear diffuser then that my friend will take a good couple of hours, but the finished product looks the mutts nutts

Love seeing this pic reappear! Probably been asked but what exhaust setup have you got and where from?
