What does Vagcom provide

Quick question about vagcom

I am thinking about buying vagcom either "keyCom" or "keyusb", and was wondering what they will actually give me the ability to do. I've seen a friends carchip reader on a Celica, and it measures loads of different things, and was just wondering what vagcom actually provides data wise.

I understand that it reads fault codes, and allows me to reset warning lights etc, but just wondered what else it can do.
