What engine oil do you all use?

As the title says really, I'm looking to do an oil change before my ring trip next month and wondered what grade/type people were using/recommended?

I would have thought 5w40 fully synth should be about right?

Also, if anyone can recommend a good retailer to buy from please post it in here.

Castrol 5W-30. Good for vag engines over 180 bhp.

Do a search on the oil and filter guide. Few suggestions in there.

Castrol magnetec 10/40 used this oil for a few years in my old cars and have to say is very very good. I have oil presure gauge in the ibiza and with synta gold if it gets too hot loses alot of presure compaired. Recomended by vw technicians at my local vw as castrol is licenced by vw to make there oil plus if u look on the packaging it conforms to the vw specification.

Can anyone recommend any decent web sites/retailers to source these from?

Gotta be honest, I always used Halfords fully synth 5w40 in my old car and never found a problem with it. Wonder how it actually compares to the "top" brands.
