hi guys,

sister took her DAB tdi to the local dealer last thursday, as the pass side door wouldn't open from the outside, it seemed like the handle wasn't catching properly.
They took the car inside the workshop, and she was there about an hour. door works fine from the outside and inside now, but when you open it from the inside, you only have to pull the handle once, not twice.

It's always needed to be pulled twice when inside the car to open the pass door, so what have they done that now it opens on the first pull of the handle. The doors automatically lock when driving, it's just the 'double pull' that changed.

Need to phone them in the morning due to finding a inch gouge in the bumper, which i'm doubting they'll admit to causing, and would like to know if they've bodged something or fiddled with the car while it was in.

many thanks for any advice.

are you pressing the key fob button twice when you get in or once? if you press it twice both doors unlock meaning you dont have to open it twice. if you press it once you have to pull the catch twice from inside the car.
i had a door catch go on my car a little while ago and couldnt open passenger door atall whilst they had it in i asked them to make it so the car dont auto lock when driving but if i only press the fob once i still have to pull passenger door catch twice.
hope that makes sence.

before they had the car in, when you unlocked the car using the fob pressed once, just the driver door would open, thn you had to press it twice for all dorrs and boot to open. also, the inside handle on pass side had to be pulled twice to open the door.

since they had the car in, if you press the fob once, the driver and pass door unlock, and the boot unlocks with the 2nd press of the fob. now the inside handle opens when you just pull it once. automatic locking is still enabled though.

They have disabled multi lock I think. You can get it enabled again if you take it back, it's no big deal. I have mine disabled as pulling the handle twice did my head in.

thanks for the info guys, think i may leave it like that for her for a few days, see how she likes it, as the sis is always complaining when my mother is trying to rip the handle off with a single pull etc
