Hi Guys

I never explained the thread properly before.
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=410177

I am still getting the odd wining noise from the lower part of the car and it's been identified as coming from the location of the flywheel.

This video lets you hear and see it.

My garage have done lots of tests and can say that it is from the engine but are unsure without stripping down the clutch etc as to what is causing it.

The symptoms are, start the car first thing no issue, run the car for 10 mins the noise is apparent.
In gear, out of gear, clutch in or out.
After a run of say 30 mins the noise is almost gone but can still be heard just.
It goes with engine speed.
It;s not the starter motor or the aux pump.

Not sure what the holes are in the casing (silver part) unless air vents but this is where the noise comes from and I can see a spinning flywheel (mechanic said it was flywheel) through the holes.

My question is, if its not the gear box ( happy about that) then what is it?

Mechanics say, they don;t think it's too much to worry about at this time but I panic about noises.

As you guys are the tops when it comes to knowledge I really would like your ideas.

Thanks

Hi
Sounds like a bearing whining,, disconnect the aux belt (briefly) to eliminate anything that it is connected to as a start.

Im having similar problem with my cupra 180, sounds like rattling/vibration from the gearbox at 2000-2500 rpm. Its only there at those revs but its fairly noticeable the sound. Thought it was the flywheel so changed the clutch and flywheel. Noise is there there not happy at all!
