hi all ,could someone please answer this?seen a few golfs and a lcr with some sort of cover across front of bonnet with couple of wires attached?make sense?

Updated with better pic, it's a protective cover to stop road rash.

The north americans and canadian's use them extensively due to the massive amount of gritting they do in the winter months.
 
oh right,thanks for that ,been bugging me.not much point having them on cars here though surely.

Depends how much you value your bumper and bonnet paintwork and how much winter motorway driving you do..

If you keep them on too long without taking them off to clean underneath you run the risk of trapping dirt and grit underneath and doing more damage than you're trying to prevent!
