Evening all,

That time has come again to get my insurance but I have noticed that most if not all quotes I get fill my car in as the 211hp FR model when I thought mine was 197 (200)...

Am I right in thinking that if I got this insurance and the car was wrong it would be void even though it is done using their system and my reg...?

Anyway I change my car to the 200 model and its cheaper so I hope it is that haha

2nd year getting insurance on the Leon and it seems the most powerful car i've had and it's the cheapest at £284 fully comp with protected no claims and no excess...

Just thought I would check with you guys if you've had any similar things?

I have a 2007 (57) TFSI FR Pre-FL

Cheers in advance

You are right that if you crash and your car is different to what you have told them you will be classed as uninsured. Also the case if the police somehow work out its not the same, not that that is likely as they will only check it's insured unless you really piss them off!!
The insurance will say you should the model of your car and you should ensure their system is correct. Basically they will bend you over in a grotty toilet if they thinks it wasn't insured properly

If its an insurer you havent heard off read the terms as they tend to charge silly fees for mid term adjustments to policies, like 55 quid

If in doubt - check V5 details to actual car details (engine number etc.) in your car, a final resort is to check with seat dealership to confirm the details they have stored.

if any of the details between your car and V5 dont match then you have an issue that needs to be changed. If all the details match then you would have a pretty strong argument if the insurance wanted to try to be arses in a crash situation... But for peace of mind I would check it all and not worry too much if all numbers correlate... :D
