what make of turbo ?

Hi all

I was just wondering if anybody knows the make of turbo that is fitted standard in my Seat Cordoba Tdi 130 55 plate . ( is it a garrett )

The reason i'm asking is because i have just had a brand new unit fitted to my car and the mechanic said that it's exactly the same as the original part.

I phoned up my local seat dealer and i was quoted £1250 pounds just for the part.
The independant VW dealer who does all the work / servicing on my cordy charged me £720.

Work carried out was :

Oil feed pipe
Turbo
Gaskets
Manifold nuts
Anti freeze
Oil filter
Pd oil

Total price paid including vat was just over the grand mark.

most of the time independent factors can supply identical parts to a dealer. The only differences are the brand markings and the parts mark up seat uk charge. All genuine parts have a 2year warrenty instead of 1.

A lot of the 130s come with KKK turbos but Garrett are generally better made and are stronger.
