Personally I dont know about the legality of it either but a mate of mine had his MK5 golf on scirocco wheels and it could easily be seen that all 4 tyres stuck out of the arches and he didnt seem to have any trouble. He ddnt notice till I pointed out i was like wtf lol

Redemption do you no about the law involving the wide euro look? Iv seen many cars on the roads with wheels the you can see the tyre tread from above. Is this legal do you no. I'm getting mixed answers through google.

As I understand it, you're not supposed to have wheels that stick out further than your arches. Manufacturers can get around this to a certain extent by sticking on little plastic 'mudflaps' on the edge of the arch so their wheels line up with them instead. Check out the rear arches of a Leon Cupra R and you'll see what I mean.

Well all i need are the adapters and tyres and thats it right? I'm thinking if i get pulled abd the officer says its a serious thing then il sell and try to recoup my money. I want to do it because I'm hoping il have the only mk2 with them on.

I honestly wouldnt think they would poke out too much, thats if they are 8j all round, G23 engineering will make up some adaptors for you, (min width 18mm), that would put your offset down to ET20 which isnt to bad at all.

http://www.g23engineering.com/ have look on their site, top guys who know what they are doing :)

Quite pricey for adapters tho? Might just do it and see what happens. Could always roll the arches if i love the look but keep getting pulled. Another expesnce lol

I wouldnt personally buy the FKs as they are just alumium, and i have heard about threads being stripped etc, the H&Rs have steel inserts for the threads, not to sure about the G23 ones but they wont just be alli either.

But just get them on and you will be pleased

Thanks for the CB info, literally got my mk2 leon last week and always been a honda nut so unsure of what these leons can take
What is the normal rim width the mk2 leons arch can take, im assuming 8" and push to 8.5"? Going to be ordering coilovers and some bbs rs reps, can always get spacers but was going to just get a rim with the correct offset to avoid spacers
Any members on here that are going more for the stanced look i would be best giving a shout? Sorry to thread crap for the OP

DRM or DRA?

Looks like u need the dra ones mate. The drm ones have studs but u have wheel bolts that bolt straight into the hub through the holes. Hope this makes sense :)

Those wheels are reps made for the mk4 golf platform. They won't look too got on a mk2 leon imo.
Have you tried a wheel against the hub yet?
Then picture the 20mm more poke, don't think it could be pulled off without looking like a fiesta van on Capri wheels.

Have you seen the wheels is question? Iv balanced them up to the car and i think they suit the car quite well. Iv also done a very cruid cut and paste over an existing picture of the car to give me and idea of what it will look like. In terms of the poke ill gonna give it a go if it looks crap i can sell them on. Worth a go for something different i think.

I don't mean that as in your wheels will look crap. I mean the poke/offset might be hard to pull off with an 8" wheel.
I think you would be better spending your money on 5 x 112 to 5 x 130 adapters, selling the wheels you have and buying adapter friendly porche wheels.
But that's just my opinion.
