Id spend the money on styling (smooth a few bits, deep dish wheels) then save for a 16v or try and get a cheap 20vt and bang that in later on. I dont see it worth spending that amount of money on that engine because It will only ever be an 8v and you will always want more!

Hey All,

I'm going to be playing about with my MKII 8V Cupra soon :p , I have a couple of G's to get any bits that I choose. Already done the exhaust :)

Just thought I would put out the question, what would you do with 2 grand to an 8 Valve cupra?

Cheers all. [B)]

assuming that the most common things have already been done (lowered, exhaust, filter ect)

tsr big valve head, kent gs2 race cam, solid lifters, vernier pulley, megasquirt ecu,16v brakes, lightwieght 15" alloys, a good r/r set up. that would be a good 2k well spent in my books![B)]

Jib your car is sooooo nice!! If I had the money I would definetely buy it off you. I would have your arm off for it!!

But I dont have the money  and I dont think I could afford to run it what with the current petrol prices etc

you should see it in the felsh she is stuning

2k to spend on an Ibiza, hmmm. Get some good quality suspension perhaps Gaz gold or AVO monotube struts, oh and of course neuspeed arb front and back and polybush thoughought. Personally Id spend money on the suspension over the engine. You get used to power, but youll never get bored of a good handling car..IMHO of course!

Id try and see if you can 20vt it as mentioned above - that's my long-term plan.

Ollie

if you really want the mk2 then 20vt has gotta be done

if you just want a 20vt then for little more money look for a mk3 instead

Yeah def want a mk2, like the exterior shape much more than the mk3. Wouldn't mind the mk3 dash and engine though :D

In that case, sell your mk2, buy a mk3, buy another mk2 & rip all the panels off the front & fit them to the mk3

far easier

if you want to improve the handling, sell it and buy a mk1 clio 16v and then save the rest of ya cash until you can afford sumet faster!!

or spend all ya money on the 8v and end up with a car that still isnt that good at handling and still isnt very fast and youl have no money to buy a better one!! and the 8v wont be worth any more than when you started lol

seen ideas for a mk2-3 cobversion but i like that one better - lol

sure beats the hell out swapping internal organs over

imagine a mk3 Cupra panelled up like an early small bumpered tdi - lmao

Would that work?

The main thing I don't like about the Mk3 is the back end. Wouldn't you need to replace or modify the rear so that you could fit mk2 light clusters and boot lid.
