I did a quick photoshop of my leon with some smoothed bumpers and a carbon bonet.

Im fed up with waiting for cupra r bumpers to turn up and im seriously thinking of getting my originals smoothed in it would probs be the same price.

Bit more smoothing and no carbon

ok so im hearing a no on carbon bonets?

lol ok

has anyone ever smoothed the original bumper before??

im trying to work out if its worth it or not. Cause i wont be able to remove it afterwards unless i think of a magic way. lol

Bumper looks spot on!

I've not seen it done before on a Leon, but owners of the facelift Focus that had bump strips in the bumper did it plenty of times, so I am sure a good bodyshop would have no trouble at all. After all, it's just a case of removing the strips, preparing the area, filling, smoothing and painting.

It would certainly be different and unique

well i didnt want to spend 600 quid on an irmy airdam for my corsa so i had the corsa bumpers smoothed and it looked great and very different

im very tempted as i think it looks alot more euro .

right well i guess im going out monday for a quote for a smoothed bumper and to discuss options of removing it once smoothed.

Looks good with smoothed bumper and as Rob said it will be unique however i'd spend the money on a few mods rather than change the look of the car...new alloys, remap, suspension :)

I have some 18" jaguar performance alloys to hand if i can work out a way of fixing them on. :) but if not i got to wait till the tyres ware. I dont have the money to be spending wily nilly and normally when tyres go i make a deal with my parents for some alloys.

Hi,

Im sure i heard on here before that the bumper is held on by bolts, some of which are under the bump strip, so if you did smooth it, you wouldnt be able to get you bumper of if you needed to, without undoing the smoothing.

Not sure if its right but i am sure ive heard it on here.

Definatley looks good though m8. not to sure on the boonet though!

Good post - nice bit of information that could save him lots of hassle.

Just drill a hole and fit one of those caps as used on cupra bumpers perhaps?

That would be totally awesome, the smoothed bumpers looks superb, not too fond of the bonnet either.
