Whats the cost of detailing?

I don't think i need it at the moment as my Cupra looks pretty good, maybe 'cos it's silver, the swirls don't show as bad as black or red. But, i've also got a black Bora that the wife uses and it looks terrible.

Who's good in the Watford or Herts area and what should i expet to pay?

Answers on a postcard please........

only joking, just stick 'em on here, cheers.:D

Im guessing around £180-250 for a full exterior detail. But you may be able to find someone cheaper, always good to check their reputation first.

Then you will need to invest in some decent products to keep it looking good and keep the swirls away!

Reg Hollis on here does this full time and is very good. He may go as far as Watford. Get in touch with him as I don't know his prices buy am guessing around £250 for full exterior detail but will be well worth every penny.

Got mine done for £110 full de-swirl and detail etc (see my post for pics). It shouldve been £150 but i got it discounted cos someone had cancelled twice and told him to keep the deposit as an apology, so he passed the discount onto the members of the forum were both part of.

He's not mobile yet as he's only been in business 9mths, but is buying a van after his honeymoon.

I am fully mobile Swissvax Approved and Trained detailer with a very good reputation (if I do say so myself) and regularly found driving the M25 in all directions.

In fact Iain of Finer Details and I both have a SCN offer (LINK) which more than a few members have taken advantage of.

I will admit that you can find cheaper, however one thing that allows me and Iain to stand above a lot of others is we are fully mobile, meaning we carry water and electricity, also insured and have support and full backing from product manufacturers.

If I can be of help, please feel free to contact me, free phone 0800 043 1994 or via PM and I'll be happy to help and advice on costs and options.

If someone is doing a full correction detail, usnig Zymol Vintage, for £180, take it. They are either doing it cash and fiddling the tax man, stole/borrowed the wax, the wax is fake, not doing any correction, etc etc, but that is dodgy.

thats ashame reg you say that kind of thing. the guy is a fab detailer, i know him from an old car forum. my dad got his S2000 detailed by the guy before he sold it, it did look fabulous. £180 was for you going to him (london) but if he comes to you then around £230 + for traveling etc. the guy that i am talking about does this as a hobby, a crazy one at that. its totally non profit and all that he 'makes' goes straight on to new cleaning products and uprated tools.

also tbh i think it would be very hard to steal a huge perspex (sp) lump.

I'm wasn't trying to put a slur on the guy, but its about doing it properly Harvey. Agree with it or not, Zymol are very strict with who uses their products professionally, and are known for getting the hump big style for detailers using their products without having gone through the official channels of being licenced by them. At the moment, this costs around $10000 per year for the detailer. The pricing is fixed by Zymol, so when you get people like this that tip up with a pot they have got from who knows where (and there are fakes out there, hence my comment), it rather takes the piss out of the people who have laid out the cash to be allowed to offer the Zymol treatments.

Adam - just playing devil's advocate here, but if houses and offices get burgled with all sorts of massive electrical equipment, whats so difficult about stealing a 22oz pot of wax in a plastic box?
