I have a weird noise when turning right, it gets quicker the faster I’m going, not sure if its CV joint (boot looks all OK), bearing, ARB or something else.

Seems worse when I turn and accelerate.

When turning left I get a small amount of noise, but nothing like turning right:confused:

Hope the link workd

Thanks

Check the wheel arch for the plastic liner, could perhaps be hanging down and catching on the wheel? Also check your wheel bearings. Jack the car up and wiggle the wheel from top to bottom. Failing those its probs your CV joint.

Mine made a similar (but not the same) noise when my driver side engine mount went and I tuned right. That's easy to check, just see if the engine has dropped on the drivers side.

Will have a check over at the weekend, sounds like metal rubbing, when on full lock going very slow it sounds like rubber twisting, wheel arch seems ok

Doesn't sound like a CV joint to me.

Have you replaced the turbo pancake pipe with an aftermarket one (Not LCR, doens't have one)?

drop link rubbing the drive shaft. park it on full lock and have look. mine was making the same noise after i fitted new adjustable ones. they where to fat and just caught the drive shaft on the drivers side only.

I have a feeling it could be drop link or something around there, the reason is that when I've jacked up the car recently and taken off the wheel the lower arm has dropped another 2 inches, and it's been hard to get the wheel back on.

I think my arb bushes also need replacing.

Will have a look to see if I can see rubbing marks.

Is it just a matter of just replacing the drop links.

Also everything is original and still standard.

Thanks

I could see mine through the wheel when parked on full lock. It was just shy of touching the driveshaft but when my 13 stone was added to the car it was enough to make it catch.

Taking car into garage Wednesday but the noise is moving, it used to be only when I was on full lock right, but now it seems to make the noise the most when I'm going in a straight line, weird

Garage said they cant see any signs of rubbing, said it might be a dry CV joint, they are going to undo CV boot, pack it with grease and cable tie back up.

Hopefully that will do it as its very loud now when driving.

If it is a dry cv joint thy would be knakerd now repacking it with grease won't help, if the cv joint is dry and is making that noise u will have to replace the cv joint as the damage would already be done

yeah worried cv joint is knackered, maybe I should inject some grease into the cv joint to give it a go, rather than giving it to the garage and them charging me to do it.

Jacked up car and can't see any problems, I bet the cv joint is knackered, no leaking from boot and I can feel grease inside.

Can the cv joint come away from the drive shaft.

Also is my shock meant to look like this when jacked up

Yea shock looks ok as above Check for leaking in shock whilst ur there, I believe the joint cant come out of the gear box or hub whilst it's all together as far as I'm aware, if there's grease in boot it's unusual for the joint to go....

My money's on a wheel bearing. I had one go recently and it sounded a lot like you're describing, nothing like you would expect from a bearing at all. Eventually it got worse and made the usual drone too and that was how I was finally able to diagnose it.

There was no play in it at all, which is why it took so long to diagnose. Hope you get to the bottom of it as I know how frustrating it is to know there's a problem but nobody can tell you what it is!

Apparently cv joints make more of a clicking noise
