does any body know what the pipe at the top front of the engine is called and what it does? it comes from the back then goes into a y piece one part goes into inlet manifold the other drops down between inlet manifold and engine.:confused:

The Y-shaped hose is a breather hose part of the PCV system (positive crankcase ventilation). It recirculates oil vapours and dumps them into the intake so they can be burnt off. Mine recently failed (common problem) and I replaced it with an uprated silicone one.

EDIT: If it goes to the inlet manifold then it's not the Y shaped hose I'm thinking of.
