Whats this?........

Was about to give the bay a clean ready for the weekend and noticed that the wires had come out of the connector that fits on to the pic below. Have had the engine light come on the last 2 days but drives fine and not had a chance to vag com hopefully will be done tonight, just wanted to know what this was and if it is this what sort of code would i expect?

Will go to scrappy tomorrow and get a new end to solder on. Any help would be useful

does your aircon works?

looks like the sensor to switch on your airco compressor?

i think it's ur power steering pump presure switch

Not tried the ac will have a go in the morning. The steering seems fine? Will put a new connector on the end and see what happens tomorrow?!

it's the pas pressure switch as said above

Mines as come lose also like they have corroded away. Everything works tho aircon,pas etc

They look like they have corroded on snapped off at the base of the connector.

so where are the wires now exactly??...have you just tucked them out of the way for now? yeah looks fairly corroded judging by the pics.

Mine has exactly the same problem...

Going to fix that tomorrow... no idea what it does... but

I VAG Com's mine and it only showed a MAP sensor fault (which was simply the sensor being unplugged)... so that might not be the fault that set off your CEL.

Im not the only one then! Noticed mine has the same problem, just the wires have come out the end of the connector.

Somethin to do with the PAS but mine still works fine and no faults logged

Once repaired i'll see if i notice an difference with PAS.

Will sort mine out now and then get it vag'd tonight, looks like quite a common fault to occur then!

apparently it gives extra power to the pump when turning at low speeds. When I repaired mine the sterring definetely felt ligher

will have to check mine aswell as steering heavy (but then again it always has been) - started to get a knocking noise when i steered both left and right - only happened twice in 8 months mind.
