wheel bearings

Its about time I show my little 1.2 some love so can somebody please tell me/point me to exactly what I need to change the front wheel bearings? I will be able to get use of a bearing puller.

Depends weather you get just te bearing or hub. If it's the hub it basically as below

Hub nut off
Wheel off
Caliper and disc off
Disconnect following :
track rod end
Bottom ball joint
Suspension strut bolt in the hub

Then you need to pull or hit the hub down away from the strut. May need to look at sourcing a hub splitter tool, only £7 or so

Replacement hub will go back in place.

Don't forget new hub nut.

If you go for just bearing then you'll need to press the old bearing out of the hub and press a new one in, but process still the same.

I was thinking the hub assembly, in you opinion would this be the easiest


Iv seen hub and bearings with the hub nut on eBay for around 30 quid is this the correct part and worth getting

Ye by far the easiest way. Obviously if it's 2nd hand there is a chance it's not perfect but far easier than trying to press a new bearing in, unless you have a hydraulic press in your garage and time to spare.
£30 sounds about right, just make sure it's for the correct side and for the same engine size and you can't go wrong really

I think they are brand new, so other than the £7 tool are there any other special tools required?

A decent socket set, a ball joint splitter for the track rod end and lower ball joint ( not essential but does make life so much easier!

A big hammer and some wood! For the separation of the hub and suspension strut

Decent splined sockets, think they are labeled T20 etc, may need one for the track rod end, need to hold it while you undo the nut,

There is a big one to slacken off the hub from the strut, but a 3/8" extension bar fits nicely

Oh an a socket for the hub nut, the 130 sport is 34mm hex socket but not sure about yours

I think the 1.2 and the 1.4 are the same size hub nut, 36mm bi-hex (or 12 sided)

And to release the strut from the hub I tapped the strut upwards on the part the drop link attaches to
