When does your turbo start spooling?

Just a quick one for you LCR owners!

Where does your turbo start spooling. Earlier today, I was tootling along with the window down and heard the whistle starting just under 2k rpm I think......

The car is standard etc. Is this too low?

Also as this is so low, will it be damaging my turbo for warming up / cooling down?

depends what gear your in..normally about 2 and half..unless your under-revvings in 6th then itl be just under 2

Mine used to spool at about two and a half. But after having it mapped it now spools at about three and a half

Yea it spools alot later, however i imagine diferent maps react in different ways. Mine now has alot more pull in higher revs

dosent that cause it to be a lot more sluggish off the mark?

Its about the same really, just got alot more higher up the revs. Just have to watch it some times, as if i floor it off the lights i get wheel spin in both 1st and 2nd gear in the dry

i do normally, but i think thats just because i need new tyres

I use to in 1st before the re-map. But now in 1st and 2nd and thats with new tyres, but then again i do get excited now and again
