I have a brand new seat leon cupra r Just bought it brand new and paid it off so it is completely mine, I want to midify it but dont know where to start. The general look of the car i am happy with but the engine is more what i want to modify.

I know i can get it remapped but i was also told if i get other things done after having it remapped then i wouldnt get that items full potential unless i have it remapped again so where do i start in order to modify the engine. I know full pumps, pistons and pipes n hoses need to be changed and modified but where do i go to get them done,

Any help or links of dealers that i could get it done at would be most helpful, I have loked a lot at this site but noting realy nakes scence to me, I am more of a pay someone else to do everything and fit everything kinda guy

Many thanks

I am in larkhall just outside glasgow its next to motherwell and hamilton

Well a Revo map is £500+vat for stage 1 then for stage 2 and 2+ its £50 for each additional stage.

If i was you i would get a 3" downpipe and Sport cat/Decat and go straight to Revo stage 2. The cat back section isnt really for performance and more for noise but i think some nice blueflame tail pipes would suite the Cupra R BUT i dont think there is any out yet so if you went down that route you may have to let them develope it on your car. You will prob get a good discount though.

After that depending how far your gonna go i would get the ride sorted coillies or the bilstien b12 kit would my chioce.

Then and intake and High pressure fuel pump internals and go to stage 2+. The car will still run fine on stage 2 with these additional mods though.

There are other tuners like Gaic, Shark as far as remap goes but my monies went on Revo ;)

If you do go all the way to stage 2+ i would strongly advise a bigger intercooler, i would go with the THS one

Have a ganda on here for mods etc http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/jkmtfsioverview.htm

Thanks a lot mate

Basicaly i want 2 get as much speed and power out the car as i can so going all the way is my plan even tho i dont have 1 yet haha But your advice and info have been helpful as i dont know anything about moding cars so its nice for some1 to explain a little directly to me

Many thanks

Oh and when buying mods you need the ones that are compatable with the K04 Turbo. Normally labled up for Edition 30/S3/Cupra/TTS.

Hi there Thats exactly where i got it from but it wasnt the demo one, I got it from down south waited about 3 n half weeks, Just trying to find out where i should start in order to modify it.

If your into cars and live localy then any help or pointers would be appreciated

Cheers

if i were you i would drive it first , let any niggles raise their heads and get them sorted under warranty , once you know you have a good car modify away mate.

Agree with that mate. Just go and enjoy the car for a while :D

Thanks guys i see what u mean, I dont want to just race away andget things done to it, Just trying to learn what i can as i dont know the first thing about modifying cars so as much as i can learn before i start doing things i think would be good so i dont muck things up or buy the wrong thing.

Does any1 know do the garages order all the new parts as well as fit them for me?

Cheers

I have one in Candy White.....i'm from Glasgow and just got the Revo stage1 done today and OMG! its quick.

Where did u go to get it done mate?

Dont know many places about larkhall or hamilton that do them

The only Revo dealer about is Autohaus in Edinburgh thats where i went.....this is the second car i have had the Revo software on and been very impressed.

Thanks mate is it just remapping or do they do other things aswell?

Cheers

If your going all the way to stage 2+ you might want to think about getting Vagcom aswell, so you can log your car, make sure everything is running safe and also see fault codes etc.

Drive it first standard and satisfy yourself everything is fine as you will find any warranty claims will no doubt be invalid as soon as you modify. While you do this start putting money away as taking these cars to the max will be very expensive.

Some typical prices;

Stage1 map - £300-550 dependng on which one you go for

Stage 2 - Additional £50
Cat Downpipe - Blueflame or Milltek - £600
Turbo Back Exhaust - £500-£600

Stage 2+ - Additional £50
Induction Kit (ITG/FORGE/APR etc) - £200-£400 depening on brand
High pressure fuel pump (HPFP) or internals (Autotech/KMD/APR) - £320-£800
Intercooler - THS/APR/Forge to name a few £500 - £700

If you do all these performance mods you should expect to see your bhp increase to around 380bhp

On top of this you will undoubtedly suffer what most of us Cupra drivers suffer and thats getting use of the power withour losing it all through wheelspin and not being able to corner well so handling mods will need to be added. Typically they come as follows;

Coilovers if you want fully adjustability (KW, BIlstein, Eibach etc) - £600-£1500
or you can go with other combinations of fixed dampers/springs for cheaper
WALK (Whiteline Anti-Lift Kit) - £165
Uprated poly Bushes - £100ish depending on how many you do!
Front and Rear ARBs (Anti-Roll Bars) - (Whiteline/Eibach/KW) - £250-£350
THS Performance Engine Mount Set - £250

Can't remember if the 'R' has a limited Slip Diff (LSD) or not but if not you may want to add one to improve the handling even more - £1500 from Wavetrac or Peloquin or Quaiffe.

Plus you've got to add labour to fit on top!

Plenty other mods you can do but these the most common.

If you really want to push the car to the max (400bhp and beyond) there are replacement turbo options but these also require uprating other internals.

Should keep your savings happy!

Thanks a lot mate thats exactly what i needed No offence to anyone else but as i dont know anything realy about mods or what anything is called that list realy helped, I can research them all and decide what i want.

Can anyone tell me if a garage would order all these for me.... I mean a garage that specificly modifys cars If i made another list from the one above would they be able to order everything and fit or would i have to order?

Many thanks
