Peeps,

Could anybody help identify which K04 the below part number is:

K04 Turbo part number 06A 145 704M

Dont know a great deal about these turbo's, no pics available either. Looks like it has two oil pipes coming out of it ??

Have bit more info, the above part number is for the KO4-020...... Think it originates from an Audi TT

Is the the larger K04 turbo, if so will it be a t**t to fit onto my ibiza 1.8T ??

Thanks,

Matt

What else would I need apart from a custom downpipe

Will the turbo bolt on ?

ps dont know where youre sourcing the turbo from, but theres a german crowd sell hybrid k04s for 450 with no exchange. or theres the eliminator k04 version too.

Sounds very intresting. Can you remember what the German company were called or have a E-mail address for them.

i think the k04-001 is the only one that will fit ?

which is essentially a K03 sport

K04-20/22/23 will need new tip/manni/oil & water lines/new dp/new charge pipe

could the manni/oil & water lines and charge pipe be used from a ko4 based car e.g. leon cupra R, S3 on a straight swap basis (not including injectors, tip maf and the rest of the necessary things etc)

yes for the most part, but its the added cost of purchase and labour cost

and oil lines, etc are a b1tch to fit, nothing is easy straightforward on these engines. from what i remember even the turbo had to be fitted from underneath.

Ok this is very interesting, So to sum up for a right hand drive car, you will need...

Ko4 (could some one list the part numbers that would fit) (KKK K04-023 is this the one from the german site that will fit?)
mami (from S3 car or LCR)
custom DP
TIP (would a forge/samco one stretch over?)
longer water lines (from S3 car or LCR)
longer oil lines (from S3 car or LCR)
80mm MAF housing (from S3 car or LCR)
bigger injectors (from S3 car or LCR)
and a remap to bring it all together.

Is this all ok?

and to make it fit you need bend one of the water line elbows and play with the TIP (turbo end) and maybe move the water lines that run near the TIP, and have a lot of time to play around trying to get it all in? is this all true and is there much else i would need to know?
Thanks

iv already got a ko3s and dont like the idea of the amo4 or jbso4 and the emiminator costs around 1K and still needs injectors and remap and you cant get them second hand also i was reading on here that they arnt water cooled wich wurrys me abit also its somthing that not many pleople have done. iv already fitted my ko3s by my self so i kinda know whats involved.

Olly your car is already 250bhp with the ko3s your not going to gain all that much more by fitting a ko4 are you?

Do you have a large bore exhaust manifold such as the ATP or A&M motorsport one?

That should release a few extra horses

i have the 3" am DP and miltek sports cat already, to be honest i think the RR was abit optermistic i think its more like 235bhp going by what other people with the same mods have got on differant rollers, and its easy to get board with the power but i dont wana go all the way and get ihi and aslong if i sort a ko4 DP to fit an ibiza (wich i think i have) the rest shouldent be to hard. AND eaven if the rollers were right a ko4 would still be a 30bhp gain (with remap aswell).
olly

i dont think your results are that optimistic mk 4 polo had 251bhp and didgy had 249bhp with the same mods. in my opinion spending all that money (ko4, downpipe, injectors, maf, oil/water lines etc) for 30 bhp is nuts. youd be better off spending £1399 on a atp gtrs turbo kit, £299 on a manifold + injectors and a remap for 350ish bhp
