Which oil?

Hi all,
Which grade of engine oil is suitable for my 2007 Altea 2.0 tdi?
I only just got the car which was serviced last year, i'm looking at Mobil 1 fully synthetic 5w-30 and i am thinking of dropping it mid sevice interval (around the 5,000 mark) plus filter.
It's just a peace of mind thing.
All views on this will be appreciated.

Mobil 1 ESP is approved to the correct spec (VW504/507 - 5w 30) and is an excellent oil. Halfords is about the cheapest you can walk in and buy at the moment, too.
