So can a manual if the turbo goes.
My last DSG had 85k and was still smooth as ever. And I wasn't THAT nice to it either. That's with 1 DSG oil change
You can always be unlucky. Your cambelt or tensioner could snap as well....

But then again, DSGs are a lot more expensive to repair/change. You've been lucky, mate. I've seen them fail on VW's, Audi's and SEAT's all the same. But I guess you're right, it's all a matter of luck.
