which turbo is on my 2003 leon cupra r?!

hi there.
bought a silicone turbo pipe and the outlet sizes are to small for my car.
just wondered if anyone can shed any light on this?its the 210bhp car if that helps?
will the pipes be different sizes for different turbos?

there are two different types of pipes, those for the KO3 and those for the KO4 it sounds like you have bought KO3 pipes if they are too small,

just looked and realised i ordered a pipe for a k04 turbo 225bhp and mine is the ko3 210bhp car.ordered the right pipe now n i will see if it fits!!

FYI The 210 LCR uses a k04 turbo, its just the 180bhp models that use a k03s turbo. Is yours a true LCR or a remapped LC ?

Ye both LCR 210 or 225 has the same turbo, if yours is a LC that has been mapped it could be 210bhp but still the smaller KO3s turbo

so do you have a spare LCR pipe now then???

I don't really understand which turbo is on my car which is why I'm on here!thanks for all the info on the question.ive sent the pipe for the 225 back and I'll see if the replacement fits.the original oem pipe is split so need it sorted soonish.iv looked on the logbook and it's says it a lcr,with a amk engine number.

well if it is a LCR then the pipe for the 225 should fit
they both have a KO4 turbo.

if the pipe you have is too small then the company you bought it from must have sent you the wrong sive

K04-2x, Both Cupra R's with the BAM and AMK engine have the K04-2x, but the AMK does not have a EGT sensor on the turbo housing iirc, both turbo;s have the same capability and are the same in all other ways.

You either have your Cars mixed up or the wrong TIP, if you are not sure which engine you have, put up a picture and we can tell you.

Early AMKs didn't have the EGT kit, later ones did apparently. I was of the same understanding as you until recently too

@joffr, take the engine cover off and look at the front of the block, driver's side. You should see a little metal tab which will have a three-character code on there. If it's AMK or BAM then it's either a 210 or 225 model LCR respectively. Post whatever you find there back here and someone will be able to tell you what model engine and turbo you have.
