Which vag com???

Am looking at getting vag com, but with so many different types available which is the best one for what i need.
Just want to do a real time fault checking and code clearing.
Which one should i go for?

dont understand what you mean by so many types available? There's only one company that makes vagcom known as vcds now

Looking on ebay under vag com and its coming up with different leads and discs. Different code checker tools.
I know some are just a lite version but will they check stuff like maf? And clear codes?.
Or is there a certain one which is used by people on here i csn have a link too please.
Please ignore my igoranance, if this was a jap car i would of been fine as used to them.
