hi all, iv got a whine coming from the front of my car... the best way to describe it is like the arch liner is rubbing on the tyre... its only apparent when turning right or going in a straight line, but 100% totally diserpears when turning even slightly left, becomes apparent at about 20mph+ and gets louder the faster you go. i checked wheel bearings about 3000 miles ago and they were all tight, when i last checked i had a very small amount of play in the steering rack, but not a lot,,, nothing to worry for an mot,,, just wondering if any ones got any ideas or places to check when i properly look

cheers

When you turn left, you are loading the weight of the car onto the right side, and visa-versa.

Classic wheel bearing.

Chances are you won't even feel it through your hands ( i guess you jacked it up and rocked it 12 and 6 and 3 and 9?) as they are a sealed unit.
