As the title says I have a concern about my esp, I seem to get it coming on more when I go round righthand bends, when I lift off (I know you get lift off oversteer but it doesn't happen as much on lefthand bends). One theory I have is that when my car was stolen the tracking was way out, the garage let me have the car back in the meantime. Shortly after I drove it the esp light came on and stayed on, rang the garage they said go to Seat, I did and they adjusted the sensor, all fine again. Few days later garage did the tracking but didn't get the steering sensor reset, what i'm wondering is it possible that the steering sensor could be out (i haven't had the esp light staying on since) ie is it biased towards righthand bends. It's nothing major just a slight PITA, also I think it has been made worse by the fact my shocks are about dead. hope this makes sense as I read it several times.

The angle-of-steer sensor, basically something that measures where the steering wheel is pointing, will need resetting if your steering has been recentered. It works off the steering column, not the wheels themselves.

Shot shocks will cause ESP to come on more frequently as it senses the wheels losing contact with the road.

Yeah that was I was thinking, don't suppose you know if it's an easy diy job, as before the insurance were paying so happily let the dealers do it.

The steering angle sensor is on the steering column, underneath the steering wheel.

I have no idea and no references for how to adjust it, I'm afraid.
