Will a cone filter improve turbo noise on a 1.2tsi, reason I ask is because iknow the turbo isn't a loud as the 1.4tsi. Cheers !

I'm thinking of just putting a panel filter in mine hopefully will make a better noise. Just want to keep it looking oem under the bonnet
Thinking of staying with the panel too ! :/ descisions ey. Just don't want any loss of power so would have to route it well. Il keep you informed 
You have to be careful which panel filter you get though as most of them are built to not enhance the sound just the air flow

I've just found an air filter new in its box in my shed so I might put it on tonight or tomorrow night. Ill keep you informed
Well I thought seems as though its not raining ill go and put the filter on. Not too impressed to be honest no extra grunt sound at all. You can here the turbo spinning when you let off but it's quiet so if your looking to do it I wouldn't bother. Maybe it might be better after a remap?
Couple of pics to show you before I take it off. Went out this morning and I feels like its lost power.
