Hi guys got full electric leather interior from a leon cupra i stripped and looking to fit it to my leon 1.9tdi which originally has cloth interior how would the leathers work in my tdi is the wiring loom the same? the cupra had 3 plugs in the bottom of the seat would the tdi have these to or will i need to transfer wiring looms?

anybody done this before or can help?

You will need to power the seat motors, which will need a connection to the wiring loom. If you have the original from the donor car it may help, but as your car was not built with electric seats you will need to make a new connection somewhere.

The memory function will not work. It is done in the central convenience module, and unless you can transplant that from the donor car, no dice. Most people reckon the memory function isn't worth the trouble in any case.

It is most important that you get the airbag connections right and do it with the power off. Blowing up an airbag will a: ruin the seat and b: hurt you.

There is a thread somewhere which gives all the details, as far as I remember. Ah, here it is.

Haha, ive got everything from the doner car, they arent memory seats anyways so thats no problem at all :p

any idea where the loom runs to on the doner car as ive already got the carpets and everything out so it wont be hard to get them out its just fitting them back in as i dont fancy ripping up the carpet on my car..

Another thing occurs to me - if these are heated seats then you need the switches and control module from the donor car as well.

The original installation has a 30A fused supply from the relay plate with appropriately heavy cable. Not sure where it runs, most likely along with the other seat wiring for the airbags.

they arent heated just, electrics so not as much wiring to be done..

do they go into the engine bay relay box near the bulk head?

It's the relay carrier under the steering wheel, the original wiring has the 30A fuse in position A on that carrier. (Lower edge, towards the right, three fuseholders designated A - B - C from left to right)

been trying to get the loom out all weekend and its a pig to do very hard..:help:

If there is no memory function then all you need it a 12v feed (fused) and an earth. If the loom will not come out, cut the connectors off and make your own

could i wire it from the cig lighter..?

no memory function on my seats, they are 8 directional fully electric not heated or anything either..

and earth it on the handbreak like one other guide ive seen on here..

also would i need to put a fuse between the 12v feed and the seat? same on both sides..?

and final thing my leathers have 3 plugs under the seat, ones obviously air bag, other would be electrics and what would the last one be..? seat belt?

People have done it from the cigarette socket before, but it's only fused at 15A so you run the risk of blowing the fuse. A separate feed with 4mm wire and a 30A fuse would match what the original loom has.

Link seems to work fine for me.

And as above ^^ re the cig lighter...it can be done and is an easy way but not the best/correct way
