Hi just collected my 13 plate fr from the dealers to have the radio checked got home went to lock the car holding the button to fold the mirrors in and the drivers window drops halfway down ,
opened the car, hold switch to raise window and as soon as it gets to the top it lowers halfway as though the anti pinch is activated. Any ideas as to why ??? and how to stop it if i just lock the car it dosnt do it only when i hold it to fold the mirrors as well

Hi - I know it's a bit late but I have got exactly the same issue. Any chance you can advise the steps to resolve please? Thanks

Thanks for the reply but having changed the comfort settings around the issue still isn't fixed. As soon as the window is fully closed it drops back down halfway as though the anti pinch mechanism had been triggered. This happens whether I use the key fob button or the actual window button.

Try this,
One-touch closing
– Pull up the window button briefly up to the
second position. The window closes fully.
One-touch opening
– Push down the window button briefly up to
the second position. The window opens
fully.
Restoring one-touch opening and closing
The automatic open and close function will
not work if the battery has been temporarily
disconnected. The function can be restored
as follows:
– Close the window as far as it will go by lifting
and holding the electric window switch.
– Release the switch and then lift it again for
1 second. This will re-enable the automatic
function.
If you push (or pull) a button to the first
stage, the window will open (or close) until
you release the button. If you push or lift the
button briefly to the second stage, the window
will open (one-touch opening) or close
(one-touch closing) automatically. If you operate
the button while the window is opening
or closing, it stops at this position.

Thanks for the advice. Followed the instructions but the one touch closing procedure will not work on the front passenger window. It will open with one touch but closing has to be by holding the button in position 1 or 2 and as soon as it gets to the very top it drops back down to halfway. It's particularly annoying as it means I can't fold the mirrors when locking as the window drops

No it's completely stock. I dropped all the windows first thing yesterday morning to clear the mist off them and 3 of them closed as normal but the front passenger window decided to drop back down to halfway way when it reached the top.

Not sure if its related but I have seen this on VW forums where they put WD40 down the runners to clear any debris that may hinder the wndow and causing it to stick a bit.

On my previous car (Golf MK6) I had to pull the window switch up and hold it for about 10 seconds then hold it in the down position for about 10 seconds. I also seem to remember that there was an audible click, perhaps from a relay when doing this. I would suggest starting lowering the window fully then raise the window fully in one go and holding for 10secs then lower the window in one go and hold for 10 secs.

Well Walone - just went out to try your suggestion but the windows seem to be functioning correctly before I even got the chance. Everything working as it should - position one manual opening and closing, position 2 comfort opening and closing. No idea why but I'm happy. Thanks for all your suggestions.
