Guys,

I scraped my nearside mirror casing against a pillar in a car park today

Some stupid :censored: parked so close to me on the drivers side that it was a tight squeeze to get out and paying too much attention to not hitting the car, I touched the pillar. Oh and the woman parked behind me with her pram sitting in the middle of the road didn't help either

There's just a scrape on it, but it's through to the white plastic under the paint. The colour is black magic - so the white scrape stands out quite a bit.

Any advice on touching it up or is it pretty cheap to buy a replacement? Isee from the Seat website that it's £40 for chrome casings - should I expect the Black Magic to be cheaper???

Get the Chrome!! £40.00 Cheap as chips!

Not for me, sorry. Could be seen as trying to make my Reference Sport look like an FR. I'm quite happy with all black.

Are they easy to fit? I assume the casings just snap on?

I've recently changed my FRs to chrome, some kind person with a supermarket trolley took a swipe at my driver's side mirror casing over Christmas. The stock ones only come in primer so need paintng by your dealer or body shop. I figured by the time they had painted the cover it would come to as much as the chrome ones. They are fairly easy to get off, use a kitchen spatula (plastic not metal) to lever the old one(s) off in a forward motion i.e. towards the front of the car. Careful because they ping off when the clips release :D

Anyone got a close up pic of these chrome wing mirrors? The only ones I have seen look silver not chrome:blink:

A similar thing happened to me and I was quoted £50 by the dealer to supply and spray a replacement mirror casing. I think the actual cover is only about 15quid!
