Collinite is solid but a bit of a pain to remove, I go with a mix of with either Nattys and a couple of mothers sealant top coats or some FinishKare #2180 - Ultra Polymer Sealant.
Most problems with "hard " to remove wax is over application a light smear is all that is required panel at a tiime if neccesary.Bilt Hamber finese first time with it, bloody awesome.
I havent used it for a while but Harly Wax full of carnuba is about as good as it gets and cheap to buy.
The problem people like me who are fanatic detailers is that we are always looking for that bit extra most quality waxes and sealants will do what the majority of motorists "enthusiasts" want.
I think i left the collonite on too long like you say panel at a time rather than the tickness as i normaly use the rule of thumb little is more.
I also really like Harly Wax although it doesnt seem to get the ratings. One Wax i just dont seem to go on with and was pritty good in winter was #26 Megs Wax.
