Winter wheels and tyres?

Will 15'' steel wheels with winter tyres (narrower but deeper to maintain rolling circumference) where originally fitted with 16's?.
Ay risk of fouling suspension or brakes?.
I.e. 15'' steel rims with 195/65 15 instead of 205/55 16 alloys?.

195/65/15 has a very similar rolling resistance to 205/55/16.

I have this exact setup for our Altea (though this year they do not fit as I put 312mm discs on, so may sell them and buy 16s).

Anyhow, 288mm discs fit with 15s, 312mm need 16s.

Do you use the same wheel bolts for steel and alloys?.....

If the wheels are genuine VAG brand then the same wheel bolts fit either steel or alloys. If they're aftermarket wheels then probably not.

Yep I have VAG wheels so use the same bolts
