on the way home last night , 5 o'clock almost dark rain absolutely thrashing down and water all over the road- on a fast stretch in a very isolated stretch of road my bloody wipers and indicators packed up . pulled into a lay by hoping the rain would stop then limped on for another 5 miles before calling on a mate . we checked the fuses but couldn't find anything wrong - nothing for it but to carry on for the remaining 10 miles with my head stuck out of the window going 30 miles an hour . Bloody awful experience , car booked into Seat for monday .

Rainx not used my wipers for 2 months

however, locate which relay it is, as that may have failled.

easier than being without your car

bought it a month ago with a 6 month warranty - took it to a mate this morning who has managed to bridge the fault with a temporary repair.
when i got back tonight turned off ignition anddash display was still on - wassgoinon ? all off now but car is definitely going in on monday

update . garage stuck the car on vag com and found a few faults all of which can be put right under warranty- faulty ABS sensor etc. bad news is that the failed wipers are an electrical problem which could take time to sort out as the main fuse box needs to be dismantled -and this work is not covered by warranty/ ouch! . On the good side they gave me spanking new Leon to run around in for the rest of the week .

updated update . water leak corroded relays leading to ecu - causing damage to indicator and wiper connections . all cleared up now , l;eak sorted new glow plugs and ABS sensor for just over £400 . about what i expected
