To revive an old topic - my dealer wants £56 for new wiper blades [front & rear] for our 2011 Leon. And when they came they don't seem to be the original Seat noes, the front ones have a 'valeo' logo on them and even more bizarrely this logo is on the top on the nearside front and the bottom [of the blade[ on the offside front - no logo on the back. I have asked for replacements [genuine[. I reckon they just had them lying around - rip off?

Seat (or VAG) don't make wiper blades. As someone said earlier they will provide Bosch or Valeo. You got Valeo, they are as "genuine" as you'll get.

Working at a motor factors I get to try different things not a big fan of champion wiper blades I got front and back valeo wiper blades the best blades ever no noise and one swipe and the glass is clear as I use rain ex when I clean the windows so that helps and when I clean the wiper blade itself.

Has anyone tried PIAA Silicone wipers on their Leon (EDIT: tried to add a link but not allowed as I don't have 15 posts yet. Google 'PIAA Wipers' and choose mk2 Leon).

I had a set on my previous car and they were fantastic; super-smooth and with no noise whatsoever. You also get some product to apply to the screen to ensure the wipers perform at their best, it's similar to Rain-X and a lot of rain just beads straight off the screen at speed, without even needing the wipers on. Recommended.

Thanks for the reply. The wipers are actually really smooth and effective but what I don't like is the logo -I could get on with it if the logo was in the same position on both nearside and offside front, but on nearside the logo is at top of blade arm, where as on offside its on the bottom of the blade arm? Fussy I know but... Oh and there isn't a logo on the rear at all.

I too had PIAA on my previous car and really missed them on the Leon. I noticed that PIAA finally do aero blade style for the leon so will be getting a set on pay day :)

OK, I may be going mental here, but I'm having problems with getting my rear wiper blade to fit and wonder if i've either got the wrong one or the wiper arm is damaged in some way on my Mk2 Pre-FL 2009 Leon.

I bought a bosch H595 which wiperblades.co.uk said would fit the leon, but it won't click into place. The old wiper blade looks ALMOST the same as the new one, but is missing the little clip which is on the bosch. You can see the difference on the pictures:

The old blade slots into place, but doesn't clip in, it just kind of sits in there unsecured. This is the inside of the wiper arm, am I missing a section where the clip would normally attach on to?

FYI, here's the actual wiper arm itself, it looks like a genuine one, from what I can tell:

Can anyone compare their wiper arm to mine on the inside to see if it's missing something? Or did I just get the wrong blade?

Remove clip from new blade, push blade into arm with relative force. Should clip in properly

Thanks mate. I did actually remove the clip this afternoon cause i was sick of messing around with it to try and get it to work, and although it sits in there, it's far from secure. I'd see this as more of a 'dirty fix' to just get it working though.

Does anyone know if this is for sure the right part for this model of wiper arm?

Replaced my fronts with PIAA silicon blades recently not that impressed when I get chance I will be polishing the windscreen to remove all contaminants and using some form of rain-ex to see if that improves the situation ....

I got a set from euro car parts when they had an offer on.. £20 for the pair a think, but they're starting to leave train tracks so another set's next on the list

Unfortunately the car won't take universal ones, due to the fitment..

Going by dead empire's issue, I got an aero blade arm from a 60plate polo and with a vag blade fitted that.. The only problem is is a had to drill a hole in the blanking cap for the washer jet, as it's part of the motor rather than concealed in the brake light..

Still the blade clears the entire area it sweeps now, which I found annoying previously £20 well spent
