On Sunday i am taking part in Pistonheads v-max X. Theres some serious machinary going so i know i will finally have my little car blown into the weeds but i look forward to it. The previous best has been 160mph by an Ibiza i think (Bill) so i will try and give it a go and see what my old girl can do, but i know the weather/wind plays a big part in the speeds achieved. Wish me luck!!!!!!!

see how many peeps remember what ibiza's can do, especially if they run the same 2x2 format and you run head to head with them.

Should be a great crack. Hope it all holds together for you.

check ya brakes gary... you are SO going to need them to slow down at the end of the runs.

after a lot of vmax to slow stops, they wil be red hot and smoking.

Nah, im just going to run as normal no little tricks. My aim is not to be last LOL, come home alive and have a car thats works at the end.

If its breaks i have some bits waiting to be fitted anyway.

I have to admit to being nervous. I am looking forward to seeing some serious supercars. I would enjoy just looking at them never mind having a head to head with them LOL. I know i am going to be well down the pack but its why i IHI'd the car its seems sensible to make use of it in legal surroundings.

As many as you can fit in between 10am-4pm i believe. More than enough i would think. I think its a structured day but i would think at least 5-6 runs maybe more, i am sure Bill will tell us roughly how it pans out.

they do queue up 2x2 and you can pick ya partner sometimes or get invited (as I did) by some to run against..

pretty orderly.. some fabulous machinery when I went and your list looks even better. is it still as expensive as it used to be?

rolling start from return straight round 180 top corner, then nail it to the bottom, pass the flying stop beams and try to stop to make the bottom corner and return back again. (dont rag it on the way back, you need to cool your brakes badly afterwards) - Nothing has ever worked my brakes as hard as Vmax did.

Try not to listen to the stones pebble dashing the side of your car... and keep a good distance between you down the straight as you dont want their stones pinging your window. (or yours to them )

I ran about 6-7 runs in the day I think, and I allowed a lot of cool down times in between as I only had chargecooler, 320bhp, and one run it heatsoaked. (take some ice!)
