any witnesses...
you have already admitted you 'knew she was going to try and pull in'.. what you dont make clear is if you made attempts to avoid this accident...

how did you come about being on her left? did she pull up along side you? di you or were you under taking?
was it a one way street? (as you can undertake on a one way street i believe).

Wasnt undertaking, I tried to pull left but there was a metal railing. she just didnt see me (blind spot I guess) was both traveling at bout 24 mph.

The road splits into two lanes at a set of lights but just before the lights there is a left turn. She was in wrong lane.

she wasnt old she was bout 40ish

ok so then she will have been behind you then pulled along side you and then turned left?

on those facts its clearly her fault, are there are witnesses.

sadly, she may come up with a different story...
eg, you pulled into her...

hope it gets sorted

The YOUNG AND INEXPERIENCED drivers are by far the MOST LIKELY to be involved in a car crash[citation needed], and this has become an area of focus. Reasons suggested for this include inexperience combined with over-confidence, peer pressure, a desire to show off, and even neurological development arguments. In addition most serious collisions occur at night and when the car has multiple occupants. This has led to the following proposals:

A "curfew" imposed on young drivers to prevent them driving at night.
Requiring an experienced supervisor to chaperone the less experienced driver.
Forbidding the carrying of passengers.
Zero alcohol tolerance.
Compulsory advanced driving courses.
Vehicle restrictions (eg. 'high performance' vehicles)
Vehicle restrictions, not to flat windshield and pillar (car) for the best driver visibility angle.
Requiring a sign placed on the back of the vehicle to notify other drivers of a less-experienced individual in the driver's seat.
Some countries or states have already implemented some of these ideas. This increased risk for the young is known to the insurance companies, and premiums sometimes reflect that; however, very high premiums for young drivers do not seem to have had a significant impact on the crash statistics, suggesting that these drivers simply accept the high premiums as part of the "on road" costs of mobility or that AGE IS NOT A FACTOR in driver recklessness/skill.

*Source Wikipedia..

and 'most' women are actually SAFER than male drivers..

So I would hazard a guess it was purely an accident and not really anything malicious from the OLD BINT (40 odd yr old lady) ....

Isn't that what the word "accident" means?? and surely if she has dented her FRONT wing that suggests she was kind of BEHIND you when she pulled in? If she'd cut across your front to turn left from the wrong lane then her back nearside wing would have been damaged...

Best just leave it to the insurance companies to sort - they'll work it all out!

And by the way, 40 is not old. (Cheeky f*cker!):censored:

Sorry to hear you got hit by a car today. I nearly had a head on collision tonight with someone who thought a phone call or text was more important than driving safely, and the driver (not sure of sex) mounted a kerb, went up the side bank, swerved back down on my side the road, and managed to miss my car by about 5 feet, before i knew what was happening. just glad i was only doing 60 or i would have been in a very nasty accident.

Sympathies man - I've had, in the past 2 days, 2 cars pull out in front of me from the left on the same roundabout - I saw them, anticipated it and blew my horn anyway.

My simple assumption is that the other guy's going to do something stupid - It's usually the case...
