ill be simple with this. i have i 1.4 S and the temp gauge sits at a quarter almost all the time. is this normal? im only asking as i had a 1.4 SXE and it would warm up to half way and sit there the whole time. any advice or is this normal and im worring over nothing?

Like been said, it sounds like a thermostat, either sticky, or stuck open
Means the car is "over cooling" so in a way, yes it will use a bit more petrol

The temp gauge in my 8v never worked in the 13 years I was driving it
