When i went to goodwood festival of speed i went to the STP tent who are helping with the development of the car that is going to try and break the 1000mph barrier! They wanted me to do a questionaire and they gave me a free bag of bits and funnily enough there was a injector cleaner fuel additive in it here is the link on halfords website...

Baring in mind i got given it for FREE does anybody reckon its worth putting it in or will it do more damage than good? As i know some stuff like this can do that any comments please???
Surely its got to be worth a try?

Wouldn't bother. A) your car is probably too new to need anything like that. B) don't think there is much in the way of gains. Tbh ... I wouldn't bother taking the risk ... especially with the temperamentality of 1.4 Tsi !

I got a tub of it while down @ silverstone, I dont think it would be worth it on our engines as they will be quite nice and new. might be worth it on an old car after a good service.

On second thoughts, dave and jay have made a good point. Your engine is pretty new and probably wouldn't benefit from the injector cleaner. Happy to stand corrected! If one of your mates has an old banger maybe he/she would like a nice prezzy!

Fair enough i just thought it may or may not clear up some of the carbon deposit which these engines suffer with so badly as i thought the whole problem was the injectors getting coked up and messing up the spray pattern and even if it did a little bit its better than nothing and hasnt cost me a penny, my main concern was some major damage being done to anything else.

That the bloodhound project? Took part in a competition at Bristol Uni that was to do with the aerodynamics of that! Got to use the windtunnels and stuff was quite good!

Yeah thats the one. There were doing a competition where you could have your name on the back wing of it in Silverstone, IM guessing the same at goodwood fest of speed too.
