Would auto choke cause this...

Noob question so apologies if asked many times before!
When I start my LCR up from cold, if I pull away after say, 30 seconds, it feels fairly hesitant and fairly flat. Nothing major or undriveable but I can feel it.
If I let her tick over for approx 1 to 2 mins and let the tick over drop down to 1000 rpm or lower then it drives fine and feels like a completely different car. Is this just a symptom of auto choke running? Does everyone's do this? If not, is there anything I should check? I'm not pasting it from cold, just normal driving.
Also when warm I get a small miss on tick over, best described as a 'blip' about every 10 seconds. Any ideas on that?
Car is standard as far as I can tell.
Help, ideas and opinions appreciated and thanks for looking!

Thanks for the replies so far. Glad to hear it's not unusual (hums Tom Jones...)
Any ideas on the slight blipping on tick over when warmed up? Dodgy plug? Dirty MAF, dirty throttle body? Car was serviced in March with plugs changed etc. It's only a little drop in revs but once you know it's there...

Mine sometimes when I start from cold it feels slightly juddery, but when up to temp drives fine. I've got a new airmass and plugs for a different fault, but it still does this, I just ignore it.
The blip in the throttle at idle could be a slight vacuum leak?

No such thing as a choke on fuel injected cars ;)

Has it ever had a coolant temp sensor? Mine started doing this in the winter and monitored the actual values of it and the temp change wasn't very consistent. Changed the CTS, problem resolved :)

I have this too but i thought it was because its cold start you need time for the oil to make its way around the system including turbo etc then the warm oils around the engine and ready to roll.. Happened in my other car aswell but alot less time because it wasnt a turbo

Mine makes a hell of a blowing racket and then calms down after the choke cuts out.

The juddering continues while the choke is in play, but by the time I get to the bottom of the road it's fine. If I sit and let it warm like you've described, I can pull away with no issues.

The blowing noise has prompted me to start the below thread, because I'm sure it isn't right .. if any one can assist with this I'd be grateful

MJ has very kindly pointed me in the right direction to solve my over blowing in my other thread - and after looking further into the secondary air pump issue, I've also learnt from reading that the blowing air pump can also cause the juddering and stuttering symptoms when starting from cold, hence why the hesitation disappears following the dump noise.

Apparently it's a common problem on ageing secondary air pumps, and just need replacing.

Food for thought to help solve this thread :)
