The cupra insurance is 100% a mistake on the National Insurance Database (which all companies use as a guide). Its cheaper to insure than a TSI FR!! So yeah go for it but be careful as it only takes a few people to crash for them to check things and bang next year (if your young) your insurance could more than double (even if it easn't you that crashed)!

Good point,

If I had the chance over again right now I would buy the Fiat 500 Abarth.....what a bad ass little car that is. :p Give it a drive and see what you think?

the 500 is a little on the small side for myself, still waiting on Seat cardiff to let me know when a Cupra will be availible for a test drive, may ring Bristol now and see if they have a Cupra availible.

i checked the used section last week and it said they had a red cupra and a candy red boc in cardiff, turned up and neither were there :(

quick question - is the trapezoidal exhaust only a bit of bling? i think on the cupra i seen there were two smaller exhaust pipes within it...

Go on, you know you want one of these..........

well the abarth test drive is tomorrow, but im deffo leaning towards the cupra, would love a boc but unfortunatly, insurance for myself on one is out of my budget :(

Not the Abarth 500 especially if you are a bit of a lump, a girl at work asked me to move hers and tbh I looked like Mr Incredible in it when he comes home slams the car door and then crushes the roof. If you are over 5"10 and more than 13 stone fugeddaboudit. Mind you Heston Blumenthal was racing one last year, his was in the dealership by me last year up for 22K

Had loads of people interested but as yet no money. Got one guy who wants it but he is selling his car first. No one as yet has come to look at it but then I guess you dont need to really, wrong time of year I guess but would love it to go to someone who will keep it on here.

Well finally test drove the Abarth and.......................

WOW. Got in it and seats were extremely comfortable and very supportive. Fired her up and she sounded great too. The dealer took me on a range of roads and speeds and she was very quick and responsive in sport mode, and then in normal the steering was light and not as responsive (didn't like this mode too much). Start/stop was fun at traffic lights too but one HUGE problem with it was that he mentioned that there was a problem with 1st gear, it was difficult to engage sometimes, worrying when the car only had 3,000 on the clock :/

Very impressed by the abarth to be fair, but this is where the insurance and reliability comes into play. Effectivly i would be paying the same if i were buying a boc.

Cardiff seat rang me this morning however to say they are having a cupra in early next week for me to test drive, so iv just got to wait it out a little bit longer :)

i know :( to say the abarth blew my mind would be an understatement, im sure though the cupra will be on par / if not better though

Yeah had a nightmare trying to sell mine as well. Seems people would rather pay 2k more for an un tested TSI with a few less miles and no mods. Crazy IMO. If I was in the market to buy a boc/cup/fr i'd get one pre modified with an engine which is well known on the forum already.

Good luck selling yours Ross I know its a pain selling when you dont really want to.
