Infotainment system update from M pack to XL ?

Dear All,

Do you know if it is possible to update Infotainment system (M grade) to a higher spec for example "L" or "XL" that would add extra features like blind spot monitoring or safe exit etc.
Is it only a software/firmware change to add extra features or actually some additional components are required on a car (it has parking sensors and lighting wrap installed)

I think that there is some radar hardware needed that lives in the rear bumper for these features rather than a simple software tweak.

Thanks for an answer. I thought that maybe if rear parking sensors/camera are installed this is part of the same system.
