I know many of you have probably discovered some of the many new aspects of the forum software already.
The new software has the function of social groups, think of it as a little bit like a mini Facebook or myspace wall built into the forum. We hope it helps keep the day to day chit chat out of the more important sections of the forum. However on top of that it's a good tool to create groups for those meets and other past times that some of you are involved with both as part of SCN or outside of it.
For those who may have not delved deeper into the new functions here is a quick overview of the social groups and how to find them and join them.
1. From the Forum homepage click on the QUICKLINKS button as illustrated below.
Then click on Social Groups.
Alternatively you can access it from your USERCP
2. The list of available Social groups will be displayed as the image below illustrates.
Click onto a social group as you would any thread in the forum.
3. The Social group will display the members of the group, and if it is a Public group you will see posts in there that people have already made. If it is private or invite only group you will not be able to see any of the posts.
As the image below, click the JOIN GROUP link in the top right as illustrated.
4. As shown click YES to join the group. Pretty straight forward so far eh kids.
5. Use the reply box as you would any other post on the forum.
New posts are displayed on the same page and listed below the reply box.
They are listed latest post first and older posts below.
