Hi,

i have noticed that my v2 (belgium) doesnt have the chrome finished window switches. I have always seen this in reviews in all formentors and I wonder is this some form of latest cost cutting or lack of parts? Does anyone have the normal one too? I didnt see this as an “option” anywhere

I’ve just looked on the UK configurator at the Formentor VZ3 model. Although I can’t be 100% certain from the computer generated interior view (below) of the car on the configurator, it does look as if the window switches aren’t chrome finished when compared to the parking brake switch in the centre console where the chrome edging strip on that switch can be clearly seen. So assuming the image below is a true representation of the actual car, it does appear that the window switches don’t have a chrome edging strip.

As you’ve said, lack of chrome edging on the window switches could be a supply issue or a cost cutting measure (not unusual for VAG to make small cost cutting changes during a car’s life cycle).

I had a look at late date Formentors for sale in used cars section on the Cupra UK website. Early 2023 registered cars have chrome edged window switches - like yours. Late 2023 (and later) cars have window switches like those in the picture posted by @Jones2020 in the first post in this discussion topic.

So the change may have been part of 2024 model year changes. Build of MY24 cars would have commenced some time in June 2023 - that’s assuming the date when Cupra starts production of the next year’s model year vehicles is the same as VW’s.
