hey i am wanting to get my car remapped for some extra power at the same time i am going to fit a Split-r and a forge TIp and cold side dump valve kit. my question is my friends have CTR'S and Astra VXR's and from this remap i want to be able to really pull away from them but dont know what to go for in a remap as some have high bhp but not as high torque like custom code and others have lower bhp but are different in how the power is delivered any help would be appreciated

I suggest you ask the individual tuners for rolling road graphs plus, you've been around here long enough to know that a question like that will be answered with the search function.

if you stick to a forum sponsors map youll be fine, contact them to discuss what youll get from it

i.e p-torque, custom code, jabba etc

youll be fine with the ctr, other than in the twisties, upgrading handling mods rather than power will enable you to frap the ctr.

stage 1 map on lcr to 265bhp approx, with even torque curve.

stick to the forge 007p recirc valve mate, some have problems with the split r, due to being atmospheric, 1.8ts dont really like them.

id stick to stock power for now and concentrate the cash on handling mods and braking, these will benefit you more if t=you want to beat ya mates

yes i have but there is no record on the search function saying if anyone hasa taken on a VXR with the mods i want and won. tuning graphs don't mean a lot to me as it doesnt tell me which will help beat those two cars. the handling mods are next on my list as i want coilovers but not to drop it far too low as i like my splitter in one piece. a friend has the Split-r on his Ibiza and the noise it makes is brillaint granted he has 330 bhp pushing it. need to fit my strut brace as well this weekend so that will give it the slightest feeling of being tighter

spend the cash on these handling mods, and you will be better off tho "beat" your mates

1... uprated front arb.... nuespeed

2. rear arb

3. uprated engine mounts ina, ths etc

4. dogbone mount ths

5. s3 upper strut brace

6. tt wishbone buses

after that then coilies, and finally map it.... they will be nowhere near you after that

oh, befor you map go for turbo back exhaust, t.i.p

job done, bank emptied

you have the bhp to beat them anyway, unfortunatly getting that power down and through the corners isnt the lcr strong point, with the mods above youll be fine, they wont get near you

ad a diff and youll be in scooby slaying territory

Hi

To get the best from your Cupra R, I recommend:

P-Torque Stage 2 custom map
Forge FMIC
Turbo back exhaust system
TIP
007P/Splitter

a few things you need to know about a vxr.........
read the topgear review on it they think its rubbish, there is to much power for the chassis for a start torque steers like mad chassis cant handle the 240bhp standard so god help anybody that remaps one, followed by the fact the brakes dont live up to much...

and the LCR... handling is ace the best chassis that seat ever made touring cars ran 300bhp from the 225bhp engine and won..

the vxr comes of the track at most corners,so my point is your lcr is miles better than one befroe you start modding it..
standard you handle better put the power down correct, and it will stop on a ten pence peace if you need the brakes..
unlike a vxr

and as for the citroen as you pass that in your lcr u will be able to watch it fall apart as your mates thrash it to keep up with you..

SO remap stage 1 should do the job.......... REVO i think.

and its not just the car its the driver ,remember that...........

cheers

Get yourself along to Star performance in Kirkaldy, Jim will sort you out with a CTR/VXR beating map.
The LCR as standard has enough power to mix it with your mates cars. As said above though with a little chassis stiffening you WILL walk away from them 100%, been there done it;)
