My car went in for a couple of niggles on Weds, inlcuding a wet drivers window (not much of it) and straight away the technician told me it was a known fault without a cure. Interesting reading your comments, guy - pity Nidd is so far...

Go straight back to them and print this off/ point to this thread and tell them there is a cure and to contact seat technical directly for advice on the fix!

As mentioned in the New Toledo forum, my '06 Toledo's wet windows problem has been cured 100% by me insisting that the dealer change the affected window's rubber (outer) seals under warranty. Not a drop of water ever since....despite a pouring wet summer. There was no obvious fault in the old rubbers...must have been microscopic pores in them or something....anyway, its fixed now permanently !

I was told all this crap before, tell them to contact technical directly not just through the system. Call seat customer services first and get them to contact technical for you and get back to you, thats what i did and funny how there was a fix for it and hey presto... no wet windows!!

Took me 4 months of arguing with my dealership before they'd admit there was a problem, despite me showing them this thread, it took a couple of phone calls to customer services before they started to believe me....

It was to do with the water going inside the door, which is normal as is channeled out the drain holes and not near the interior of the door. But a lip on the seals holds some water and it is dragged onto the window on the interior. I think that how it was working, been a while since this thread!

I had Niddvale fix my wet windows a few months back and thought yippee all good. I have now found that the rear windows still have the same issue.

Surely all the seals should have been replaced and not just the fronts, or is this a seperate issue.?

I originally only noticed the fronts were bad enough, now ther rears are bad. But the dealer who had carried out the fix messed me about, so it was agreed to replace ALL seals, obviously was'nt done! Sent a list of problems to the dealer in Belfast where i had bought car and had sterring arms replaced, they seem easier to talk to.

Does anyone have pics of how to do it or what the seals look like before and after?

If the dealers aren't going to do it then maybe we need to do some DIY. They won't know anyway if they think the seals are ok to start with.

It is suposedly a big job, around 2hrs per door to do it. From what i was told it is a lip on the seal that has to be modified or removed, but have never seen pictures of it before?

Well I have had it confirmed the front seals were changed and not the rears as at the time the rears were not a known fault.

So my dealer (Niddvale) has sent pictures etc off to Seat to confirm they can repair the faulty rear seals. How annoying is it to get anything done, Niddvale have had to send a report to seat about the rear seals even though they know how to fix them. Just wish they had looked at the rears at the same time they fixed the fronts.

Oh well at least all my parts should come together. (Fog lights need new seals, Steering rack creeks new something or other and the rear window seals)

I've just had a call from SEAT customer services to say that SEAT technical have now released an official fix for the wet windows problem!!:D!!

Its only taken 11 months!! (I've had the problem from day 1)

My car is in for its 10K service on July 17th, I'll update with results after then.

Hopefully all will be OK.

Hi mate, I've been on to Seat UK and they deny any knowledge of a fix. they say it is not official and that ALL cars leak at some stage in their lives (news to me).

Can you tell me where the 'official fix' came from??

Cheers

Andy
