CUPRA has moved to reassure customers and followers over the future of the Raval after recent articles linked the model to wider speculation surrounding the latest Volkswagen Group job cut news.
The brand says it has received a number of questions in recent days, prompting it to issue a direct statement on where the Raval stands within its wider plans.
That response leaves little room for doubt. CUPRA is making clear that the Raval remains central to its future, both as a key part of its electrification push and as one of the most important models in its long-term product strategy.
In response to the speculation, CUPRA said:
“The CUPRA Raval is currently being launched across all our markets and is already one of the most successful launches in the brand’s history. The response from customers, the media and the wider public has been outstanding and has exceeded our expectations.
The CUPRA Raval is a cornerstone of CUPRA’s electrification strategy and a fundamental pillar of the brand’s long-term product plan. It will play a central role in CUPRA’s growth for many years to come.
CUPRA remains fully committed to its long-term vision of expanding the brand, with the Raval continuing to be one of its most important strategic products.”
That statement is about as firm as CUPRA could realistically be at this stage. While wider developments across Volkswagen Group have understandably led to questions, the message from CUPRA is that the Raval is not a side project or a short-term experiment. It remains one of the brand’s most important cars and a major part of where CUPRA sees its future heading.
It also reinforces just how significant the Raval has become for the brand. From the start, CUPRA positioned it as more than just another small EV, instead presenting it as a key model for bringing the brand’s design, attitude and electrification plans to a broader audience.
On the basis of this latest statement, that position has not changed.
