can anyone remember the last problem free week they had with their cupra! every bloody week somthing is going tits up for me and its not just mine! every1 i know with a cupra is the same! i'm starting to get really fed up with it and am almost thinking it mite be time to call it a day as every weekend involes either vag com or taking the thing to bits....[:@]

1 year any the only problem has been the lambda failing (just gone) and the cable on the window breaking. As far as I'm concerned these are commom problems with all car's at 6 years old.

Other than that its faultless motoring.

thing is ibiza's dohave an awful lot of "common problems" don't they. coil packs, MAFs, N75's, coolant temp sensors, lambda's, knocking suspension etc etc! and i seem to have or have had nearly all of these!

So do VW's, Audi's, Skoda's, Vauxhall's, FIAT's, Renault's, BMW's, etc... Every "high spec" car I have owned or have known people own have had problems, which usually other owners have had.

Never had an N75 problem, coolant temp sensor problem or suspension problems with the Cupra.

tbh i wish i had bought another integra type r now.(i had one a couple of years ago but wrote it off)that was the most realiable car i have ever owned!
ever when it was perched on a wall it still started up!!!

the only reason i didnt buy one is because the insurance was more and they were a bit more expensive to buy but to be honnest if things keep going wrong with the ibiza it will have cost what the extra insurance was!!

well after fixing my steering column I only have left...

Boost/vacum leak
Slight creak in front drivers side suspension
Need new pads and disks...

Had the MAF and Coolant temp sensor oh and a ABS sensor issues already but they're sorted now !!

gonna say ive had mine for about 15months now and the only problems ive had is... rear wiper pipe popping off, lambda sensor ****ed, brake servo pipe. outside temp sensor, and wires break off the n75 valve and thats about it really i thought that was good considering its age, the engine has never missed a beat really... runs sweet

so far ive had, clutch pedal snapped, idle/power problem, catching noise from offside front wheel, windows playing up decide to put themselves down and wont go up for a while, failed dump valve, but none are really major things so i cant complain really lol

i found out what was causing the common knocking suspension problem yesterday... not the spring moving as i was told on here, the top mount bearing was dessimated! ball race had broken and there were a total of about 5bearings left!.

Hi mark_20vt what exactly did your suspension know sound like, i know its a hard question lol but i have a slight knocking from my drivers side when turning and its only quite but very annoyingwas it when you were turning the steering wheel at low speeds or when reverseing and turning.

yeah thats exactly it. a clonking sort of sound. always made it since i got the car but overlooked it as a "common problem" with no cure. got louder to the point of embarresment so investigated and the bearngs are no more. i'll post some pics later...

No car is perfect people, I remember a few years back when there was a problem with the BMW 3 series E36 - The Conrods kept on going and it was a common thing which hapend to quite a few cars, and BMW refused to do a recall and cover them under warranty.(The Replair work was approx £2000) Most things are only designed to last a certain amount of time.

Thats how car manufactuer's make there money. (Parts and service Department)

My coilovers dont make any noise tho, my clutch pedal snapped, changed a Maf and had coils done, but so has pretty much every VW Audi had coils and MAFS. :p
