How stupid u got to be to tow off the strut brace especial an environment agency wagon! I'm guessing at a Landy 110 (majority seem to roll round in them) and the capabilities off 110's are world renowned at getting through where all else would get bogged down, why oh why would you try and pull it out let alone pull off a strut brace!

I think most of the landys they run have Warn winches on as well so in the unlikely event a wagon does get stuck just winch it out, not strut brace it out!

Oh whatever!!

There was hardly any damage to the car, other than a slight bend to the oil filler cap (kindly fixed under warranty) and the bent in my sturt brace that did f**k all anyway to the car's performance.

Because I had my wheel alignment done right afterwards, they were able to point out that my bushes/brushes (whatever I can never remember) were worn and they were replaced just before my warranty expired - ta skoda, considering the eibachs.

So what, I bought a modified car with out knowing everything there was to know about it. I am only going to learn one way.

And for the record I did not put him in the ditch, he put himself there. I managed not hit the hedge even though I was the one with the heavier car and going downhill.

You were lucky if it hasn't done anything else to the car. Can you see any stretch marks in the paint around the base of the strut turrets?

A friend of mine works in auto repair and has had to put several Mk4 Golf's on a jig before, for much less than that! One of them was a female kerbing her car... that's one hell of a kerb...took 3 hours to straighten it. What sometimes happens is that the subchassis actually holds the monocoque square, when it's removed the chassis pings (so to speak) and you can't put the subchassis on again (bolt holes don't line up, etc.). All this info of course is associated with front end damage due to kerbing (ping balling of a roundabout kerb, front impact, etc.).

Unfortunately I have no experience of damage due to towing with strut bace...

It's gonna make some good conversation at the coffee machine in the office tomorrow!

Nope, there is nothing. Several people have looked at the car since, and everyone says it is fine. Looking at the sturt brace you can see where it buckled rather than anything on the car. The sturt brace has proved far more useful as something to dry my clothes on as it hangs nicely above me radiators.

Oh keep talking about your straightening jigs and monocoque kerbs, mix them up with the rigits and sprogets and then shove them through up tradesman enterance
