A friend of mine works in auto repair and has had to put several Mk4 Golf's on a jig before, for much less than that! One of them was a female kerbing her car... that's one hell of a kerb...took 3 hours to straighten it. What sometimes happens is that the subchassis actually holds the monocoque square, when it's removed the chassis pings (so to speak) and you can't put the subchassis on again (bolt holes don't line up, etc.). All this info of course is associated with front end damage due to kerbing (ping balling of a roundabout kerb, front impact, etc.).
