what do you mean by not immediate? if people take delivery in march will the car have these changes. Basically should people wait a while before ordering?

I cant really tell you much more than that like i said it was a taster of the Cupra, they didnt reveal if it applied to orders placed now. I think it'll be the 2008 models that it will apply to! I guess youll all have to just wait and see! also keep your eyes and ears peeled for changes to the styling!!

it is a shame when early adopters are penalised by improved package late revisions. You pay over the odds at new then end up with inferior options. I know its just a way of modern life but it does significantly impact the excitement of being an early buyer. Hopefully it will be nothing major or nothing that ant be remedied (as the 210 to 225 pack wasnt).
Change is a fact of life, it happens in all industries, i can accept that things will change, i've made my decision to buy the car as its been presented, however i would be dissapointed if SEAT were to make dramatic changes to the car so soon after initial release. And it would knock my confidence in buying another car in the future.
However im also not a fan of the rumour mill, and i think its harmful and creates customer insecurity, especially if its coming from a SEAT employee, im not sure they approve of information like this, especially as its full of inconsistancies. ie im telling you this, nudge nudge wink wink, but can't really tell you any more because they didn't say.
Personally i'd rather facts be stated and not hearsay.

Subaru did it with the bug eyed Subaru, and as for updates in 2008 won't the Leon be ready for a face lift by then in it's model cycle anyway, so you would have expected there to be changes then for the whole range.

Im sorry you feel this way, ive come on here before and read things that we here at the dealer didnt know because you guys manage to find things out sooner.
However after reading a few post and seeing peoples queries regarding a few subjects relating to the Cupra i thought i'd answer them with what i know!! I havent done this to rock any boats and make any one feel insecure regarding the purchasing of their Cupra ive simply done it as i said to answer a few questions. In regards to my styling comments they simply asked us, as we speak to customers looking to purchase the Cupra, what do we feel customers would like to see styling wise on the new Cupra. Im sorry of I've upset anyone it wasnt intentional. If your not happy with my post feel free to delete them.
SEAT have done it before, they did it with the last Leon Cupra, but it took them 3 years to make the change in that scenario, and 2 years with the Cupra R.
Change happens as i said, you can't stop development, market forces etc. But at least 2-3 years should pass before major revisions. People should accept trim changes and new options etc. But if they were restyling a car 6-12 months after you've shelled out £20k for it, its a bit rich! And as a counter result the residuals end up going through the floor.
I accept that by buying a new car you'll always fall into this trap a bit. And in a way its like computers, you by the best you can afford at the time that suits you and don't worry so much about what happens in the future.
But given that a car is the second biggest investment many of us make in life, the manufacturers should be aware it makes customers insecure about future dealings.

A week after Audi took my order I happened to speak to someone who said that you could order adaptive bi-xenons for £380. They are not in the brochure, and are STILL not listed as an option in any publications. Most dealers don't seem to know they exist until a customer asks them to check if the option is available at Customer Services. Also, you can still order the hardwired phone kit for £400 as the Bluetooth phone kit as not in the price list (but is available). Again, we only found out by asking the question as we didn't want to have to try and acquire a phone cradle from this milennium.
While I accept rolling out a new car is a massive undertaking to all the worldwide markets, you would think from the perspective of customer satisfaction and revenue maximisation that they would be bringing as much to market as possible. Problem is they rush to products to market as Management force products out the door early to tick objectives off their lists ........

You've not upset me, don't worry about that. Im just responding in discussion with my thoughts on the matter.
We just think that if were sharing information, we should try and be as transparent as possible. I know thats not always possible, but you have to agree it can knock peoples perception of purchasing new cars. And your in the business of selling new cars no doubt.
If im being frank, id like to see SEAT put more emphasis on customer focus groups, or questionaires. If they want feedback from customers, then a forum such as this which is dedicated to the enjoyment of their products, is the ideal place with which to gather the kind of information they require.

I totally agree with you, with a car that is so sought after, why put together questionnaires linked to SEAT web sites and ask people/customers thoughts and feelings into the styling of such a car!!! Yes this is is long awaited and absolutely loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeerly but it is to FR'y!!!!!!
It maybe similar in looks to the FR but not every customer is too bothered about big wings and fins or the Max Power effect.
I actually prefer the sleeper looks of the Cupra, knowing full well the engineering underneath is monster. If im brutally honest to me its how it drives and performs rather than emphasis on the looks.
I obviously have some love of the car's design and styling, I wouldn't want it to look like a box with 4 wheels nailed to it for example.
I do think the Leon is one of the most attractive and interesting, and unique looking cars in the current segment of family cars. Even the older crop of TDi TFSi Sports and the current FR models are headturners in my opinion.

I still say it is not attractive, looks the same as a lower spec car and only slightly quicker than our lasses LCR.
The back seats don't fold properly so not so good for the family.
I have since seeing the styling thoguht they will update this very shortly.
If I try to trade our lasses 04 up for it I bet I am looking at £6K

It doesn't have to be quicker, it needs to go round corners IMHO. From what I've heard of the Mk2 leon it handles better than the Mk1.
