looking good dave, if you struggle to get the strut brace back on then just relocate the battery to the boot and pipe the filter down towards that area, job done!

hmmm, playing with the idea of getting a enclosed filter now, got the dynatwist in mind, where the filter location is its a bit to near hot air for my liking, will try a few pipes to see if i can move it further away, if not, il need a enclosed jobbie

just scratching my head at where to run the cold air feed as the header tank will be in the way to put it in the wing

My BMC feed goes behind the battey behind the wing where the original intake sits, gets nice cool air there.

GOT MY CAR BACK :D :D :D :D :D

got their today and they were just finishing off, were testing the car and it didnt look good to be honest, the car kept cutting out with the lcr MAF and 3" filter on ???? dont know why, injectors are installed, just kept starting then dying straight away, they replaced the maf and filter with the old one with a reducer and it started fine, first time and idled fine (still with injectors fitted)

then they starting to hear a blowing noise coming from around the dp area

they checked everything over for a good hour, trying to find this blowing noise but when the car warmed up it went (when i say they were checking everything , i do mean everything, half of the gear came back out again, rechecking etc ..)

blowing noise went when engine was warm, they took it for a test to the bottom of the road and back and it seem'd fine

got my keys, paid, got in and started driving home

getting a very weird noise when accelerating, sound like a VERY loud sucking noise, like its going to suck me through the dash, like i got before the kit was fitted on full boost, but im only driving at 1.5/3k, went back and they said it was just the turbo trying to spool and because the filter etc .. is alot closer to the dash you can hear it more, but the gauge isnt moving???? so confused at this, drove home anyway, thought i would see if my gauge was working so i literally tapped the peddle spooling to about 3psi, turbo spooled up and gauge was working fine (turbo sound very nice, very throaty)backed off straight away as soon as i saw turbo had spooled, dont know whether this noise (weird sucking noise) is coming from spooling as they say? whether its because the car was being driven with injectors and not maf and that was messing things up? or whether i have a boost leak anywhere????, i dont know, hoping someone can point me in the right direction here

anyway, got home, pulling up my drive and BAM ! blowing noise come back, got on the phone to them and they said they have a feeling its the dp/gasket, taking it back tomorrow after work for them to try and solve this blowing noise, i asked them how was the turbo etc (getting paranoid).. and they said its fine, they rechecked it about 3 times when they were problem solving earlier

so far im happy with the work they done and happy with the kit, cant wait for mapping, just need to sort out these minor probs (MAF, blowing,)

p.s iv checked everything with vagcom, a the garage they had a few problems, so i cleared the codes that were their (after making a note of them) then drove home with vagcom running, no lights came on dash and after doing a full scan when i got home no faults came up either

anyway, enough of the essay, going to start uploading pics so i can get them posted

old filter and maf are still on by the way, going to try a different LCR maf see if that solves the problem (should cut car out though )

Are these right??????? (remember N75 is now plummed in at other side of tip and DV is ALOT further down the tip)

could try it yeah, didnt think of that to be honest, wouldnt have thought it would cause it to cut out though if it was duff ??? but with the other one on its fine so it must be the maf?? (just trying to convince myself) its a LCR tip mate

what happens if you disconnect the MAF on the 3" one?

should default to known map

didnt try that either  damn good idea though, will try that tomorrow on my dinner if i get time to nip home :)

just just throw up a fault but run fine without the maf and with 3" filter?

Check the tightness of the lambda probe in the DP. If Still experiencing probs put a soapy solution around the dp area and block the exhaust pipe at the rear box. After a little while the gases should leak through any weak points ie the DP. Don't excessively rev or leave for too long as you could stall the turbo and in extreme cases affect the combustion process if the pressure gets too high.

they tried this but with a tube to their ear against it moving it about to see if they could hear wear the blowing was coming from, will get them to check it with soapy water instead

will get them to check that when i take it back to them tomorrow, cheers :)
