Hi all, went for remap yesterday, and had problems with it mapped, the car is fine stock as we tested it several times with mapped vs stock.

LC 180 btw

Basically when the car was remapped and you were doing normal driving, like if you were holding your foot at the same position on the accelerator while it was accelerating you could feel the car juddering as though the engine was misfiring or as if the engine was hesitating while it was accelerating, sort of on/off like for a split second...

Anybody have any ideas? the map has been tried and tested on countless leons before with no problems

have searched and a few things that keep coming up are the n75 valve, forge dump valve... but if car runs fine when stock surely all these components should be fine...

this was at guy, that why i said we tested it several times, we tried changing dump valve springs then ran mapped, then stock, then milder map, we tried a few modded maps...

Running extra boost can make things show up that don't when standard as the parts are not pushed as far. I'd try a new N75.

checked the n75 last night but was 0 most of the time, so i dunno if its buggered or if my vag com is mucked up. but i starting to think everything is ok...

Surging when remapped has been a common thing - just worse for some than others - I tried new MAF - no difference
New N75 - no difference
Induction kit - no diff
N249 bypass - help a bit
New remap - problem pretty much solved. ;)

What remap is it?

BTW i'm not saying its the remaps fault - some cars just surge a bit, some don't. But with a different map, the surging may not be there

The remap in this case WAS mine ,, The car is now standard as we ran out of time trying to sort out the problem.
The map was more than just a stage1 map it was more like a 1.5 map and it does seem that some cars dont like to have that slight bit extra power.

As said some cars do suffer from this problem when remaped and seem to be totaly fine when standard.

Ive read quite a few threads regarding this problem and it does not seem to be a spacific tuners problem because most have had simlar problems on this model car.

And some even have the limp mode on cold weather problem that i dont have,

This car was running 95 ron fuel and had a slight pinking problem even on the standard maps.

And had the remains of a "NON revo" Time Trial remap in the ecu,s Eeprom and Eprom.

pete, it might be worth getting an n75 and keeping it for your own diagnostics, revo etc is designed for a standard F on the leon but i found the dms map (well, chip) needed a different variant (a j valve that time) and the surging stopped, just a pity the workmanship was crap and the ecu got waterlogged.

I do agree i normaly have at least the standard n75 in stock but i sold it b4 christams and have not had change to re order.

Where was the workmanship bad ??
Was it your ecu what got water logged ??

yea i used a bloke who came recommended but he did the work in a cold rolling road shed and never heated the mastic when putting it back together, not to mention the domestic quality prom he soldered in, the ecu started giving off strange error codes for a lot of different things then eventually wouldnt start, 648 from the dealers for a replacement which he went halfers but refused to refund me for the chip and labour even though it was blatantly his fault (why would he even give me half of the price of a new ecu!)
Went revo on the new ecu for obvious warranty reasons.
Mork still has my old ecu which he was going to try and fix, though i am going to ask for it back soon to see if i can get it mended.

If you get it back m8 , can try and replace the eprom with a good quality one and may be able to revive your dead ecu.

In reality he should have not needed to swap the eprom he may be should have just reprogramed the original one.

Any way the offer is there ,, cost of blank chip and postage only.
